I have a very exciting announcement to make. After three months of hard work by the amazingly talented Steph DeMartino, the audiobook for Legacy.exe is officially complete! As of this morning, we've submitted it to ACX's review team for final checks. And if all goes well, it should be releasing ten days from now, on May 5th.
I've been blown away by Steph's performance and editing skills from the moment I heard their audition back in January. They have an incredible vocal range, to the point that I even forget it's just one person speaking and not a full cast. The emotion and technical skill that they've poured into this project has truly elevated it beyond my wildest dreams, and I could not have asked for a better partner on this. In my opinion, the audiobook is now the definitive way to experience this story.
If you're at all curious about their work, you can check them out on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/steph.narrates, where they have links to their previous projects. Head on over and give them a follow.
There's some other fun news to talk about, in addition to the audiobook. I have officially registered Legacy.exe for a virtual book tour, which is coming up in June. This'll be my first foray into marketing, so we'll see how that goes.
Meanwhile the sequel, Humanity.exe, is still in the drafting stages. I'm about 2/3 of the way through the first draft, and thanks to the amazing feedback I've been getting from my writing group, I don't think this one will require a complete rewrite the way Book 1 did.
I've been in a bit of a writing slump lately, and to break out of it I am giving myself a challenge. If I really push at it, I believe I can finish the first draft in two months. So through the months of May and June, I will attempt to write 500 words a day for 60 days. After that, and a few months of revisions, I'm hoping to have Book 2 released by the end of this year. Then I can start on Book 3, Connection.exe, and hopefully finish drafting The Stray so I can wade back into the querying trenches next year.
Once again, I'd like to thank everyone who's purchased a copy of my book. This has been an amazing journey, and I'd never have made it if not for the encouragement I've received from all of you. If you can, please remember to leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads. Reviews are the best way for a book to gain visibility, especially in today's crowded market.
I'll keep you all updated as things progress, and hopefully I'll have some more good news to share in a couple months' time. Until then, I hope everyone is enjoying the warmer Spring weather. I certainly am. Stay safe out there, and let's continue to make this a good year.
